Unrequited (half of chapter 4 and half of 5th chapter)
Continuing with 4th chapter...
"It seems to me that you've got some serious daddy issues. How does that reflect on your relationships?" The fey asked. "What do you know of my heart?" Dorian snapped though the spark of anger flickered against the tenderness in his soul. "More than you think," The fey replied calmly, stepping closer, then continuing. "I've seen you hide behind your magic, trying to be what others want. You don't need your father's approval to be worthy of love. You need to love yourself first."
"I don't have any magic. You got it wrong this time, fey." Dorian defended himself and his secrets. "There's something special about all of you people." The fey said. "There's nothing special about me. I'm just a high school student trying to find my place in the big wide world." Tessa said. "Oh, you're special in your own way too. Your adventures and meaningful and people are in awe at your bravery to uncover dark secrets of this city. Such a brilliant mind." The fey said. "I didn't think about myself im such way. Thank you!" Tessa said and finally saw what's special about her. "You're welcome, brave Tessa." The fey replied. "Are we ever going to see you again?" Dorian asked. "You'll see me again. This is just a beginning." The fey said and disappeared into nothingness.
Lone wolf Dorian
(Chapter 5)
Choosing between Jade and Tessa is like standing at a crossroads under a canopy of vibrant autumn leaves. Both paths are beautiful in their own right, but he knows that whichever way he turns will lead him to a entirely different season of life. It's also like standing at a fork in a sun dappled forest, where one path is lined with vibrant blossoms and the other with deep, whispering shadows. Each step forward holds the promise of beauty and mystery, yet both lead to an unknown destination that tugs at Dorian's heart in different ways.
Dorian Sean Stuart is creative, introspective and a natural communicator. He has a genuine warmth that draws people in and he often finds himself in the role of confidant among friends. He's thoughtful and often weighs his options carefully, but this can lead to indecision, especially when it comes to matters of the heart. Dorian possesses a quirky sense of humor that can lighten any situation and he values deep connections and authenticity in his relationships.
Jade Luna Myers is passionate, spontaneous and fiercely independent soul with a magnetic personality that complements Dorian's introspective nature. Their relationship is filled with adventure, creativity and a shared love for the arts. However, Jade's unpredictable lifestyle and fear of commitment creates tension and tears them apart, as Dorian craves stability and wants something serious with her.
Tessa June Mitchell is thoughtful, grounded and nurturing. She brings a sense of excitement and warmth to Dorian's life. Their deep conversations, fun adventures and shared dreams create a profound connection. However, Tessa can be more exciting at times, leading Dorian to question if he's overlooking the more practical aspects of life.
Dorian is at a pivotal point in his life. He adores both Jade and Tessa for different reasons and the pressure to choose one over the other weighs heavily on him. Dorian grapples with feelings of guilt and uncertainty, worried about hurting either of them while also contemplating what he truly wants for his future. He struggles to reconcile his desire for stability with the spontaneity and excitement he finds with Tessa. He aims to clarify his feelings and determine which path he wants to pursue. He hopes to find a way to express his love for both girls without causing heartache, but he begins to realize that he must embrace the challenge ahead in order to find personal fulfillment. Ultimately, he wants to create a life where he feels genuine and secure in his romantic choices. He is facing a choice that may define the next chapter of his life. He is spending more and more time with Tessa who became his closest friend, hoping to understand his own heart amidst the chaos of conflicting emotions. As he navigates social situations, tension rises and he must confront not only his feelings for both girls but also his deeper desires for love and belonging.
His birthplace is Los Ayer, a bustling and diverse metropolis known for its vibrant street culture, art scenes and fast paced lifestyle. That's the city of the sunlit streets and colorful neighborhoods of Los Ayer, filled with street art, galleries, community gatherings and the shadowy depths of abandoned spaces where art thrives amidst desolation. He has striking blue eyes that seem to hold secrets and they gleam with mischief, but can also reflect a depth of emotion. Dorian has a flair for artistry and he sketches in his spare time, often expressing himself through his art. He is rebellious. He occasionally pushes boundaries, whether through his style, music choices, or opinions on societal issues. He has a knack for challenging authority and questioning norms. He is very introverted and loves to spend time alone. While he has a close knit group of friends, he is also deeply introspective and prefers solitude when grappling with his thoughts. He is loyal to his friends and fiercely protective of them. Dorian would go to great lengths to defend them, even if it means putting himself at risk. He is torn between his passion for creating and the consequences of his actions, fearful that if his family and friends find out, it will change how they see him forever. Dorian is driven by a desire for artistic expression and freedom, but is also grappling with feelings of guilt and fear of losing everything he holds dear. His internal conflict fuels his creativity and he longs to create a piece that encapsulates his struggles with secrecy and authenticity. As he navigates his teenage years, he also grapples with the desire for genuine connections while living a double life. Dorian has a habit of doodling on any available surface when he's deep in thought. He often quotes lyrics from his favorite songs, finding solace in their words and has a peculiar affinity for old vinyl records, believing they hold stories that resonate with his own. Dorian Sean Stuart's journey is filled with artistic exploration, emotional turmoil and the challenge of navigating his secret life amidst the vibrant backdrop of Los Ayer. The artistic pulse of the city, its murals, street performances and music scene fuels his creativity, but it also serves as a stark backdrop for the emotional turmoil he faces during his final year of high school. Dorian harbors a secret life. As he falls deeper into his art, he discovers an underground collective of young artists known as "The Echoes." This gang group meets in abandoned places across Los Ayer, creating stunning installations that challenge societal norms. Intrigued yet intimidated, he slowly becomes entangled in their vibrant but tumultuous world. Each member of The Echoes is grappling with their own issues, mirroring Dorian's struggles with identity, acceptance and the fear of exposure. Through a series of emotional highs and lows, he experiences a rollercoaster ride of joy and pain associated with his unrequited love for Jade Luna Myers. Feeling the pressure to conform to societal expectations, he wrestles with an internal battle whether to persue his feelinga or mask them forever. Meanwhile, he grapples with the intense rivalry and friendship dynamics in the art scene, ultimately leading to a spectacular art showcase where his hidden truths are forced into the light. He risks everything by using his art to convey his feelings for Jade, presenting a raw and vulnerable side of himself in front of friends, peers and the community. Simultaneously, the repercussions of The Echoes's art becomes a public spectacle, forcing Dorian and his fellow artists to confront their motivations and the impact of their expression in the world. They teach him that the beauty of art lies in its power to speak truths that words cannot express. He finds strength in vulnerability and authenticity, forging a new path for himself that celebrates both his identity as an artist and his true self, while also exploring the possibilities of love and friendship in a city that mirrors his complex journey.
One day, the gang met in popular café in Los Ayer to design some mundane installations that conform to societal expectations. In the bustling metropolis of Los Ayer, a city that thrummed with the energy of magic, mischief and endless possibilities, there existed a café unlike any other. The Café of Curiosities was a favorite haunt for eclectic souls seeking refuge from the mundane. This is where the newest member of the gang, Dorian, found himself delving into an adventure he never anticipated. He had always felt a little out of place, tucked away in the shadows of his family's expectations. They were a distinguished lineage of practicality, skilled in crafting unremarkable artifacts that conformed to societal norms. However, Dorian possessed a spark of rebellion with the urge to weave the extraordinary into the ordinary. With a heart full of dreams and a head filled with fantastical ideas, he joined them. Gathered at their usual table, the gang comprised four unconventional members. Zara, a tempestuous fire-wielder with a penchant for drama. Finn, a mischievous shapeshifter, often disguised as a cat. Lena, a stoic enchantress adept in illusions, and Jasper, their leader, gifted with the ability to manipulate time in the simplest of moments. They were an odd mix, united by their shared purpose to infuse the realms of the ordinary with a spark of chaos, one mundane installation at a time. As Dorian arrived, he twirled a paintbrush between his fingers, an art supply he carried for comfort. There was excitement in the air as they discussed the day's project to transform a nondescript fountain in the Central Square of Los Ayer into a spectacle that would defy societal expectations. "What do you think, Dorian?" Jasper asked, leaning back in his chair. "How can we breathe life into this boring old fountain? Remember, we want to dazzle the citizens, not just make it another trinket." Dorian’s eyes brightened, "What if we infused it with elements from the folklore of our city? We could channel the Spirits of the Fallen Leaves, who bring autumn to life and twist it into a magnificent display with water, light and sound."
"Now we're talking," Zara said. Her fiery demeanor was sparking to life at the idea. "Imagine cascading leaves of gold and crimson and swirling in the water while voices whisper secrets of the past." Finn's eyes glinted mischievously. "I can be the voice of the river Spirit! I'll turn into a fish and when people toss their coins in, I'll spring up and give them riddles to solve."
"Let's not overwhelm them," Lena interjected with a calm authority. "We must balance the chaos with beauty, so they sense that magic could be part of their day to day lives." As they brainstormed, Dorian felt a warmth in his chest. For the first time, he was part of something that embraced the fantastical rather than shunning it. The subtle conversations of the café melted into the background, leaving only their imaginations fueled by vivid possibilities. With plans sketched out on napkins and sketches, the team set off to the Central Square after a quick stop to gather supplies and pick up a few enchanted water crystals. Dorian marveled at the way his new friends maneuvered through the streets, dodging vendors and weaving around the bright banners that announced upcoming festivals. Every step was brimming with tantalizing joy. Finally reaching the fountain, they spread out. Each member was preparing their magic. With Dorian leading the charge, they infused the fountain with sumptuous colors. Finn morphed into a tiny fish, darting through the waters and the moment Dorian released the water crystals, an iridescent shine illuminated the entire square. They felt the shift in energy as townsfolk began to gather. Their eyes were wide with awe. Water cascaded joyfully over the edges, morphing into vibrant leaves that danced around the fountain like spirits, each flicker echoing moments of storied legends. Jasper manipulated time so the ripples created resonances of laughter and faint whispers of forgotten tales. With every 'plop' of a coin into the fountain, Finn's voice emerged from beneath, offering riddles and laughter. People began to smile and their worries were momentarily dissolved in the spectacular display that stirred their imaginations. As twilight descended, the fountain glowed with a rhythmic pulse that captured the heart of Los Ayer. Dorian stood with his new friends, his spirit was soaring and he recognized the magic that could exist even in the most mundane of settings. They had crafted an unwritten story. The one where dreams danced before reality. In the days that followed, word of the "Fountain of Whispers," as it was named, spread throughout Los Ayer. Dorian found his place among the gang, learning that while societies might dictate "normal," it was in embracing chaos, laughter and imagination where true wonder lays. Together, they dreamed about their next installation and their shared bond was growing stronger with every thrill of the unexpected. In a city where magic coursed beneath the surface of everyday life, Dorian transformed not only the fountain, but also himself. He learned to weave the extraordinary with the mundane, creating a life bursting with color, feeling and belonging. In those moments shared with his eclectic family, he realized that adventure was always just around the corner, waiting to be summoned with a sprinkle of courage and a dash of imagination.
"Aguine, navigating my feelings for Tessa is like trying to untangle a nest of fishing lines. Every twist and knot pulls me closer to the water and the more I try to unravel it, the deeper I seem to sink." Dorian vent to his friend. "Which one makes you peaceful?" Aquine asked. "Jade offers me the calm embrace of still waters that reflect the sky, while Tessa rushes past with the excitement of turbulent currents. Jade brings me tranquility while Tessa's middle name is adventure." Dorian replied. "I think you found your peace in Jade." Aquine guessed. "But what if I'm in need for real adventure in my life? What if Tessa is the one that makes my life exciting?" Dorian asked. "To crave adventure is to long for a story to unfold, where the ink of experience spills beyond the mundane lines of routine. Your friendship with Tessa is like a garden that blooms beautifully in places, but it seems to me that there are patches of soil yearning for more sunlight. It's not just the flowers that crave the warmth. It's the entire earth beneath that longs for deeper roots, for richer nutrients and for the vibrant colors of new growth that comes from nurturing all aspects of love." Aquine told Dorian. "Without her, my life is a quiet path through the underbrush, and with her, every step is a thrilling journey into uncharted territory, where shadows dance and mysteries await to be unraveled. Since I met her, I became a fearless explorer, sailing into the horizon where every wave whispers a promise of adventure. I never felt more alive." Dorian poured out his feelings trying to find the right words. "If I were you, I would set my course towards the lighthouse that ignites my passion, not chase the calm that may forever leave me in friendzone. Because that's what Jade does. You can't make that girl commit and be yours." Aquine tried to explain his point of view on Dorian's issue. "Tessa is a burst of sunshine on a cloudy day, lifting spirits with her laughter and casting warmth that makes everyone feel cherished. I know you like her too, but then, there's Jade who once had your heart and you know exactly why you chose to date her in the past. You know how special she is."
Aquine kept quiet for a while, then finally responded. "Jade was like a siren and her enchanting song was drawing me more and more into her depths. When we started dating I realized that she is a skilled puppeteer and I loved being the marionette, dancing to her whims and twirls. I was enchanted by the delicate pull of her strings, but then she called me ' too clingy' because I always wanted to be around her." Aquine replied. "I never asked you how did you guys break up. What happened?" Dorian asked his friend. "It had to happen. We were like two stars colliding in the vastness of the universe. I was too bright and she was so chaotic back then and neither of us had a map to guide our orbits. I got lost in my feelings for her and she wasn't that into me which led us to ending our relationship not to hurt each other anymore." Aquine felt the weight of his past while telling Dorian the truth. "Aqui, I'm sure you were the only beam of light guiding her through the crashing waves of doubt and chaos, but it was complicated. She had to make some tough decisions to chance her habits and return peace into her life. She used to talk to me all the time about her struggles. To be honest, I fell for her a long time ago, but I was always thinking about not wanting to hurt you because I know how much you loved her." Dorian admited. "Yeah, she can open up easily, but she remains such a mystery at the same time. I know what made you fall in love with Jade, but what are you going to do about Tessa? Is she okay with you guys being just friends? Did she tell you that she loves you?" Aquine asked a bunch of questions. "Oh, Tessa is whispering secrets of affection without ever needing to speak the delicate truth. She never said those three words, but she showed me that she loves me unlike Jade." Dorian replied. "What are you waiting for? Go and tell her that you love her too. Just give it a try. I don't think that can ever ruin your friendship of you truly love each other." Aquine gave a good advice, but Dorian hesitated with his decision. Aquine spoke after a moment of silence between them. "Dorian... dude," he smiled at him and continued with telling him what's on his mind. "Listen to me. If I had a girl like that in my life, I would cherish her and never let her go. I'm serious. You don't even realize how amazing are connections such as you two have." Aquine didn't want to give up on his idea of Dorian and Tessa as a couple. "You don't understand. They are best friends. Maybe Tessa doesn't even want to be with me anymore. They talk about me behind my back when they're alone. I'm not sure how to feel about that. I'm a mess because of them. I can't sleep at nights." Dorian said and took a deep breath, then continued. "My thoughts are a jigsaw puzzle with half the pieces missing, scattered on a table where the picture remains a mystery. I don't know what to do."
Aquine felt sorry for his friend. "That's not good if you can't sleep. What happened to the strong Dorian? I never saw you so messed up because of girls."
"That's the issue. They are not just girls. One of them has magical powers." Dorian admited. "Wow, that's not something I believe in." Aquine paused, then asked a question anyway. "Which one would that be? Is it the new girl?" He asked. "No, Aqui. It's Jade. She changed a lot since she discovered that she is special." Dorian couldn't keep quiet about it. "Are you sure she's telling the truth? Things like that don't exist." Aquine wasn't amazed by magical powers. For him all that was just the thing you read about in fantasy stories that are not inspired by real life. "I understand your point of view, but I saw some things and there is proof that magic exists." Dorian said. "I can't believe it until I see proof myself." Aquine replied. "So, believe it or not, Jade is some kind of light fairy that can move things with her mind and manipulate light, and Tessa is human, but she's so much more than just a girl." Dorian continued explaining. "What's magical about her is that her personality sparkles like stardust in a moonlit sky. Each interaction is a shimmering constellation that beckons others to get lost in its wonder."
"Wow, you really like this girl." Aquine teased him a little bit. "She is a sunlit garden where every flower blooms in vibrant colors and even the shadows dance with warmth." Dorian said and chuckled. "I would choose Tessa if I were you, but I know it's complicated. What do you like so much about Jade? She wasn't calm when I liked her. How much did she changed?" Aquine asked. "Jade's soul is a sanctuary where the world's noise fades into the gentle ripple of serenity. She is a tranquil oasis. It's so easy to find clarity and peace around her. The more you talk to her, the more her multifaceted depths reveal treasures of kindness and wisdom beneath the surface. Loving her is like discovering a hidden melody in a world of noise. It resonates deep within me. It resonates with every fiber of my being, awakening a symphony of emotions I thought were forever silenced. It's unveiling harmonies I never knew existed. Her presence is painting my heart with shades I've never dared to dream of before. Every moment spent with her reveals gems I never knew existed and I find myself diving deeper into the depths of her spirit, searching for the light that only she can illuminate. Every moment spent with her also blooms new colors and fragrant possibilities, awakening a part of my heart I never knew was dormant. I don't love them the same because while I've always gazed upwards, it was only with Jade that I saw a pattern that feels like home. Her every 'No' is breaking my heart, but I never gave up. I still hope she will change her mind about us." Dorian poured his heart out. "Man, this is beautiful. I never noticed that you can be so romantic, but don't be this poetic while talking to her because it might scare her away." Aquine warned Dorian. "I know, I know, she's not into romance. Romance is just an interesting concept she appreciates from afar, yet chooses not to dwell on." Dorian said. "I already know you would be with Jade if you hadn't met Tessa, but can you imagine your life without Jade?" Aquine asked a complicated question. "Living without Jade would be like a garden without sunlight. I wouldn't be able to be happy without her in my life. I would hurt Tessa with not being able to heal my heart that aches for Jade." Dorian replied. "Oh, well, maybe I was wrong. Maybe you should wait for Jade or at least talk with Tessa about your feelings for her friend. I'm sure she will understand." Aquine found a solution to Dorian's problem. "It's easier said than done. What if I hurt her talking about loving another girl?" Dorian asked. "You had no problem with hurting Selena the same way. Sometimes it's better to tell the truth. You won't get anywhere with keeping two girls unaware of your feelings." Aquine said. "Jade knows. I told her how I feel. She wasn't even surprised, but she told me she can't." Dorian felt miserable remembering their conversation. "I'm sorry to hear that. You would make a beautiful couple and I hope she changes her mind soon." Aquine encouraged his friend. "Thank you, Aqui. You are a good friend. You are always there for me." Dorian felt a little better knowing he has Aquine by his side. "You are always there for me too. I'm just returning the favor. So, you won't believe what happened to me yesterday." Aquine said. Dorian leaned in, curious. "What is it? Did you finally win that online video game you keep bragging about?" Aquine chuckles." Close! But no. It's about this girl, Isabella, from Spain. She texted me!" Dorian raised an eyebrow. "Isabella? The one that broke your heart? The one with the dancing shoes and the flamenco attitude?" he asked. You could see the smirk on Aquine's face. "Yep! The very same. She broke up with her boyfriend." Aquine responded. "That's rough, but why is she texting you? What did she say?" Dorian asked.
"Hey, remember how sweet and kind you are while I'm weighing my options?" Dorian guessed and teased him.
Aquine was replaying the text in his head. "Pretty much! She actually listed all my best traits. 'Sweet, kind, compassionate'..." Aquine said. Dorian grinned. "Did she mention your impeccable ability to eat an entire pizza and still look adorable?" he asked Aquine who laughed out loud. "Not that one, but I'm holding out hope for round two." Aquine replied. "So, are you going to slide into those DMs? Let her know her emotional support pizza eater is here for her?" Dorian asked. "I mean, I could offer her some words of comfort, maybe a virtual shoulder to cry on?" Aquine asked for advice. "Or you could send her a pizza emoji, because nothing says 'I care' like a well timed pizza!" Dorian joked. Aquine snorts. "You think that would work? 'Hey Isabella, sorry your relationship went south. Here's a pizza emoji for emotional support.' Is that good?" Aquine felt stupid amd Dorian was giggling. "Definitely! You could even add a 'slice of kindness' for good measure." he told Aquine. 'Hey Isabella! Sorry about your breakup! 🍕 Here's a slice of kindness and a side of 'remember how awesome Aquine is?' Dorian laughed. "Send it! You could start a whole new trend: pizza therapy!" He joked about it. "When in doubt, pizza it out." Aquine added. "Just don't forget to tell her about your prestigious pizza eating career." Dorian mocked seriously. "Don't worry, I'll make sure to include all my accomplishments." Aquine replied. "Sounds like a plan! Next thing you know, you'll be her go to for emotional moments again." Dorian teased him. Aquine was playfull. "As long as it keeps my pizza game strong, I'm all in," he said. Dorian raised his chocholate latte cup. "Here's to you and your newfound status as the emotional pizza therapist. May your inbox be filled with pizza emojis," he said and chuckled. Aquine clinked his cup against Dorian's. "And maybe a few compliments on my charming personality, too," he added. They both laughed, enjoying the warmth of their friendship and the hilarious possibilities ahead. "So, you won't believe what happened the other day when Tessa and I went to that new escape room." Dorian murmured. "Oh no, was it a disaster?" Aquine asked. "More like a comedy of errors. So, we walk in, all ready to be the next Sherlock Holmes..." Dorian started telling a story. Aquine nodded. "Genius detectives," he said. "Exactly! But as soon as we get in, Tessa is convinced the key to solving everything is in this weird old painting on the wall." Dorian continued. "She starts analyzing it like she's in an art gallery rather than an escape room. She's all, 'Look at the way the light hits the shadow of the tree! It's a clue!' "
Aquine leaned back, amused. "Please tell me you didn't just go along with that," he said. "Well, for a minute I was pretending to take notes, but then I pointed out the huge lockbox next to it that obviously has a combination." Dorian explained. "So, she finally conceded and we started working on the lock. But get this, we were so focused on the numbers that we completely ignored the timer." Dorian continued telling his story. Aquine's eyes were wide open. "Don't tell me you ran out of time," he said. "With just one number left! The staff bursted in with a mock serious look like, 'Time's up.' And Tessa, without missing a beat shouted, 'But we were about to discover how to defeat the evil overlord.' " Dorian laughed remembering. Aquine was laughing harder. "Please tell me they got her out of there before she started monologuing," he said. "We had to leave, but I swear she looked like she was ready to negotiate a peace treaty with the locked door." Dorian responded. "That is priceless! I can't believe you two." Aquine was wiping tears from laughter. "Next time, I'm just going to let her analyze the wall art and see where it takes us." Dorian smirked. "Just make sure you at least keep an eye on the timer this time." Aquine chuckled some more. "Do you have any interesting stories about your friend Selena?" Dorian asked Aquine. "Oh man, where do I even start? Remember that camping trip two summers ago?" Aquine asked. "The one where you two got lost for three hours?" Dorian replied with a question. "Exactly! So, we set out all confident with map in hand, thinking we knew the trails like the back of our hands. But it turns out, Selena had a very different interpretation of north." Aquine smiled remembering. "How did you finally find your way back to us?" Dorian asked him. "Well, at one point, she decided we should 'Follow the river.' I mean, it sounded like a good idea until we ended up in the middle of a marsh, knee deep in the mud." Aquine told Dorian. "And you both ended up covered in muck?" Dorian asked. "Oh yeah, and just when we thought it couldn't get worse, Selena let out this loud yelp. I turned around and she was literally trying to rescue her shoe that got sucked into the mud." Aquine continued telling his story. Dorian laughed uncontrollably. "No way! You didn't just leave it behind?" He asked. "Of course not. She was on a mission. I swear, she was convinced that shoe had some cosmic significance." Aquine laughed telling that out loud. Dorian shaked his head in disbelief. "You're kidding me. What happened next?" He was curious to hear more of that story. "After a tug of war with the mud, she finally got it out only for it to flop out of her hands and go flying right into the river." Aquine said. Dorian was gasping for air from laughing. "Oh no! Did she dive in after it?" He asked Aquine. "She did, and then she slipped and fell. There she was, half in the water, shouting for her shoe like it was the Holy Grail." Aquine continued. "She got her shoe back only after I dragged her back to shore. We were soaked, muddy and laughing so hard that we forgot all about being lost for a moment." Aquine chuckled after telling that. "That sounds like a perfect adventure to me and a very funny memory." Dorian commented on his story. "I love spending time with Selena. She's like a sister to me." Aquine told Dorian. "A sister? I always believed there will be something more between you two. You fit so well together, like two puzzles pieces." Dorian admited. "No, dude. We are just friends. We've been friends since I moved to this city when we were just kids. I can't imagine having anything more than friendship with Selena." Aquine explained. "Oh, sorry for teasing. I just thought... Anyway, I hope she finds love. She is a good person." Dorian said. "To be honest, I never met anyone like her. She's so loyal and supportive. I admire her ability to see through my emotions before I tell her anything." Aquine bragged about his friend. "That's so sweet. I can see that she means a lot to you." Dorian responded. "Let's recall our funny stories from when we were younger. Do you remember when we chased a theif who stole Jade's backpack?" Aquine asked his friend. "Oh man, how could I forget? I think we must've looked like two headless chickens running down the street." Dorian said. "Right? And I was convinced we were going to catch him. I yelled, 'Stop, thief' like I was some kind of superhero." Aquine continued. "You were definitely channeling your inner cop. I just remember you tripped over that dog leash and I barely avoided a collision with a lamppost." Dorian told him. "Ha, and all the while, Jade was standing back, laughing and yelling, 'Hurry up, you guys! He's getting away!' " Aquine said. "Yeah, and I almost yelled back, 'Jade, how about you help us instead of acting like a cheerleader?' but I kept quiet." Dorian replied. "Honestly, if we'd gotten caught by him, I'm pretty sure we'd just end up being the laughingstock of the whole school." Aquine came to conclusion. "But that was the best part! We ended up being the heroes for the day when we got the bag back from him. Well, from the dumpster afterwards." Dorian responded. "And Jade shouted, 'You guys are the worst heroes ever!' Classic. But hey, at least we saved her homework!" Aquine said. "Yeah, that homework that she totally hadn't started yet. Still, it made for one epic story on the bus ride home." Dorian responded. "For sure! That day was a disaster, but one of the best disasters we've ever had. When can I sign us up for another adventure like that?" Aquine asked. "As long as there are no more lampposts or dog leashes involved, I'm in." Dorian replied. "Another funny story. Do you remember how we met?" Aquine asked. "Of course! How could I forget? I was sitting in the cafeteria, totally lost, looking for your lunch table." Dorian replied. "And I was the one who confidently walked up to you, asking if you wanted to join my exclusive group of lunch adventurers." Aquine continued. "You said you I can't let you sit alone because that's a tragedy and it is a crime against high school etiquette." Dorian recalled that day. "Yeah, I'll always go down in history as the kid who literally saved your lunch life." Aquine bragged. "And I'll forever be the grateful guy with questionable taste in friends." Dorian responded. "Questionable taste? You mean excellent taste, right? Look who's sitting across from you." Aquine bragged some more. "Sure, let's go with that, but really, do you think I've made the best choices in friends over the years?" Dorian asked. "Oh, c'mon! Every group needs a wild card and you definitely keep things interesting, but you run away to hide in library too often." Aquine replied. "Interesting? More like chaotic. Last week, me and Tessa nearly set the karaoke bar on fire with our rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody." Dorian chuckled while remembering that moment. "Where's the fun without a little chaos? And besides, I'm sure you were pretty great up there, channeling your inner Freddie Mercury. I've heard you sing." Aquine complimented Dorian. "Freddie would've disowned me by the second verse." Dorian rolled his eyes. "Don't sell yourself short. You've got a unique vibe, my friend." Aquine told Dorian. "You really think so?" Dorian asked him. "Absolutely! Who else can turn a Tuesday night into a spontaneous road trip? Or a boring dinner into a debate about whether pineapple belongs on pizza?" Aquine replied. "Alright, you've got a point. I guess my questionable taste has its perks." Dorian said. "And let's be honest, if you weren't around, who would keep me on my toes? I wouldn't trade you for anyone else. I missed you so much when I was in Barcelona." Aquine admited. "Thanks, Aqui. I guess I'll keep being the grateful guy, chaos and all." Dorian responded. "Cheers to that!" Aquine said as they clinked their cups and shared a laugh about good old memories. Tessa walked in. She was smiling as she approached the table by the window where Dorian and Aquine were sitting. "Well, look at you two. The dynamic duo. Are you plotting world domination over coffee?" She asked them. " We were just about to plot our escape from the mundane. Care to join?" Dorian asked Tessa. "If by 'mundane' you mean discussing your latest book pick and whether pineapple belongs on pizza..." Aquine said. Tessa rolled her eyes playfully. "Ah, the great pineapple debate. Seems that's a timeless classic. But really, you both look too deep in thought for that." She said. "We were just talking about memories." Dorian responded. "And we were talking about how messed up our love life is." Aquine couldn't keep quiet. "Oh, I see. I also have some beartbreaking love stories from my past if you want to hear." Tessa said. "We'd love to hear all about it." Dorian responded. "Well, imagine this..." Tessa started telling her story. Her eyes were sparkling with nostalgia. She took a deep breath. "It starts back in kindergarten in a town where I lived before and I'm sorry, but I think I am not ready to tell you about it, it's too personal." Tessa said. Suddenly, Dorian cleared his throat nervously and shifted in his seat. "You will tell us when you're ready. Anyway, I have a secret," he whispered and his eyes were darting around as if afraid someone might overhear. Tessa and Aquine leaned in and curiosity was shining in their eyes. "I write romance poetry," Dorian admitted and his cheeks flushed with embarrassment. Tessa gasped in surprise, while Aquine's eyes widened with fascination. "Really? That's amazing, Dorian!" Tessa exclaimed. Her voice was truly filled with admiration. "But who inspired you to start writing?" she asked. Dorian hesitated and his heart was racing. He knew he couldn't reveal the truth, the fantastical source of his inspiration. Instead, he simply smiled mysteriously and said, "Let's just say my muse is a secret." Tessa and Aquine exchanged knowing glances, clearly intrigued by Dorian's enigmatic response. They continued to pressure him for details, but Dorian skillfully evaded their questions with a combination of humor and charm. As they continued to talk, Dorian felt a surge of gratitude for his friends' support. And in that moment, surrounded by the warmth of friendship, he realized that his secret poetry was a gift that brought joy and enchantment to all who shared in its magic. Tessa leaned back in her chair and a mischievous glint was in her eyes as she looked across the table at Dorian. "So, how about another 'not a date' adventure around the city?" she asked and he could see how excited she is. Dorian raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the proposal. Despite their insistence on keeping things casual, there was an undeniable spark between them that always seemed to ignite whenever they were together. "I'm up for it," he said with a smile. "But only if you promise not to lead me into any more trouble." Tessa chuckled and a playful smirk was dancing on her lips. "I can't make any promises," she replied. "But I can guarantee it'll be an adventure you won't forget." And so, the two set off into the bustling city after. Their laughter and banter was filling the air as they navigated through crowded streets and hidden alleys. With Tessa's fearless spirit leading the way and Dorian's calm demeanor keeping them grounded, they embarked on a journey filled with unexpected twists and turns. They stumbled upon hidden treasures in vintage shops, danced under the stars in a deserted plaza and raced through the city streets on a daredevil scooter ride. Each moment was filled with excitement as always, strengthening the bond between them and igniting a fire of longing deep within their hearts. As the night grew late and the city lights began to fade, they found themselves standing on a rooftop overlooking the glittering skyline. The air was filled with a sense of anticipation and a silent understanding passed between them as they gazed into each other's eyes. Without a word, Tessa took Dorian's hand in hers. It was a silent invitation to embrace the unknown together and with a shared smile and a rush of adrenaline, they leapt off the edge. Their laughter was echoing through the night as they soared through the starlit sky. In that moment, as they floated through the darkness hand in hand, Tessa and Dorian knew that their 'not a date' adventure had led them to a place where boundaries blurred and emotions ran deep once more. As they landed back on solid ground, their hearts were beating as one and they knew that their journey was only just beginning. For Tessa and Dorian, the city of Los Ayer was not just a backdrop for their adventures. It was the canvas on which their stories were painted, a tapestry woven with threads of joy and unexpected bond that could withstand any challenge. As they walked hand in hand into the dawn of a new day, they knew that their adventure was far from over. It was just the beginning.
"He held my hand again." Tessa sent a message to Jade, but Jade didn't reply for a long time because she was busy. "Sorry for late reply, Tess. My grandma was telling me a story over the phone. This one was so long. Who held your hand?" Jade replied. "It was Dorian. We went out again." Tessa wrote to her. "Oh my God, that's wonderful. Did you talk about your feelings?" Jade asked in a message. "Unfortunatelly, it seemed like there's nothing to talk about. We are just friends." Tessa messaged Jade back. "I will think of something. I promise you, Tess. You will get that boy. I totally give up, I mean, it's not that I was ever right for him." Jade wrote to Tessa. "I know you had a crush on Dorian. You can't hide that from me, and I'm not sure how he feels about you at the moment, but he did love you before and that makes me the one who is not right for him." Tessa was feeling a little bit sad, so she asked Jade, "Are you free to come over to my place?" Jade wrote back, "You are totally right for him, don't overthink anymore. You are perfect for each other. I never wanted to be with him in the first place. I just liked him. And no, sorry, but I can't come over today. I'm busy." Tessa was disappointed a little bit, but it was okay. She decided to watch her favorite Tv show 'Friends' and bake some pancakes alone. Suddenly, someone rang the door bell. Tessa was surprised to see Selena in that hour, but happy to have some company. "What brings you here?" she asked Selena. "Jade told me that you can use a friend and I rushed to come here." Selena replied...

His birthplace is Los Ayer, a bustling and diverse metropolis known for its vibrant street culture, art scenes and fast paced lifestyle.
